It's very interesting that Julianne Moore, a two-time nominee, did not get a nod, given that there are six nominees in her category. Maybe she was placed in the supporting actress category?
But then, that would mean she was deemed not outstanding enough to earn the sixth slot.
it wasn't actually a total surprise. the campaign is actively pushing for an oscar for annette bening, and julianne moore - though she had more screen time than annette - had to unfortunately stay behind the shadows so as not to steal any precious press from annette.
but i have a hunch that when the oscar noms are revealed, julianne and annette will be competing against each other for best leading actress...
the oscar is annette's to lose. i am betting she'll win it this time...
